First shiny parts!!

Not only did I get the jambs and backs painted today, I got it done early enough to get some bits back on the car. The very first stuff to get installed on final paint!! Now you know that makes me happy!!

On track for final paint on jambs tomorrow!!

Yep, I finished the odds and ends and got the rest of the jambs primed today, as well as the inside of the deck lid and doors. I should be able to sand everything and get it painted tomorrow. At least the taping off is done already. Amazing how much time it takes to mask stuff!
It it happens tomorrow, this will be the first final paint on the car!! Very exciting!!

Happy thanksgiving!!

We had thanksgiving on Monday as all the kids are off doing things today. But, I did get the day off and got some work done on these doors. I had completely forgotten that I had to fix the hinge mount on the passengers door so I got that done and welded in some brackets to hold speakers. Short term goal: get the doors, hood and trunk lid insides painted by the end of Sunday. Then I can slowly get them reinstalled during the week.

Check this guy out!

After cutting and grinding, he tried a little welding and we got a cart together. This will help hold the doors during the brutal task of reinstalling them.

Doors next, but first...

My boy is helping make a "door cart". This will hold the doors in place while we unbolt them and of course bolt them back up.
Not absolutely necessary but a great starter project to teach welding and grinding skills.
I'll post pictures when it is done!

Hood first...

With any luck I can get the under side of the hood and the engine bay areas painted tomorrow. I will get the primer on and paint if the weather cooperates.
I do have everything prepped...

But now back to the car

Yep, after recovering from some bad planning with the primer, I have managed to get the whole car faired in and today got it primed with the high build urethane.
Next is pulling the hood, deck lid, and doors to get all the jambs in final paint.

Once again, the available time has been limited

I have been working overtime to get this done...
